About us

From the consulting room to the classroom and the community:
where we come from

Psiquesintiendo is a clinical psychology and psychoeducation project that connects individual support, emotional learning and community building. It grew out of clinical practice, teaching and community work in Guatemala.

About me

«A clinical psychologist at heart, licensed by profession».

I am Guatemalan, hold a degree in Clinical Psychology and founded Psiquesintiendo. From a humanistic base, I integrate emotion regulation skills with a sensitive understanding of personal history and relationships.

My experience brings together private practice, work with children, teacher training and community projects. I have lived and worked in France, speak Spanish, advanced English and intermediate French, and maintain my ties to Guatemala and Antigua Guatemala.

My professional interests run through the whole project: emotion regulation, DBT, complex trauma, attachment, self-esteem, conscious parenting and recovery after relationships marked by manipulation, invalidation or psychological abuse. I am currently studying a postgraduate programme and continue training in DBT, trauma and third-wave therapies.

Our path

How long I have been doing this

I have built this path step by step, between clinical work, education and community.

  1. 2016 – 2019

First years working with children and communities

I supported people in vulnerable contexts, an experience that sparked my interest in trauma, attachment and care.

  2. 2019 – 2025

    Clinical training and transferable skills

I completed my degree in Clinical Psychology while building a career in technical support and customer care, strengthening my organisation, analysis, problem-solving and follow-through skills.

  3. Guatemala · Sumpango

    Community work and teacher training

I coordinated training at the NGO Transformando Pueblos y Naciones in Santa Marta, San Rafael El Arado and San José El Yalú, including teacher training, health days and local support projects.

  4. 2024

Little Kikos by Psiquesintiendo is born

I created this line for children and families, bringing together early stimulation, learning through play and support for caregivers, with experience with children and teenagers from ages 1 to 18.

  5. 2025 – 2026

    Private practice, resources and RENACER

I consolidated my online practice, developed psychoeducational resources and a learning community, and began designing RENACER, my psychological travel project in Guatemala.

Approach

A humanistic base, tools you can use today

The most honest description of the project: a humanistic base integrating behavioural and contextual resources, attention to relationships and sensitivity to trauma. Which tools are used depends on the assessment, your goals and professional competence.

Humanistic

Listening, empathy, validation, autonomy and subjective experience. This is the stated base of the work.

DBT

Central orientation: acceptance and change, with skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness.

ACT

Acceptance, values and committed action as a complementary resource.

Behavioural and cognitive-behavioural

Learning, habits, thoughts, behaviours and context.

Gestalt

Awareness of present experience and of needs.

Attachment and trauma

Understanding relational history, safety, boundaries and respect for your pace.

Somatic and transpersonal

Body awareness and exploration of meaning, always according to your beliefs, preferences and consent.

An honest note: DBT belongs to the cognitive-behavioural family. Its emphasis on validation and acceptance speaks to a humanistic base without turning it into a humanistic model.

Mission and vision

Where we're going

Mission: to offer warm, human psychological support and psychoeducational resources that help people understand their emotions, build skills and face everyday difficulties.

Vision: to consolidate a space that integrates private practice, education and community, with in-person and digital experiences that give continuity to personal growth.

«The art of inhabiting yourself».

Values

  • Warmth and validation

Listening without reducing a person to a diagnosis.

  • Respect and autonomy

    Recognising pace, boundaries and decisions.

  • Clarity

Explaining processes and limits, without vague promises.

  • Connection

    Fostering support and belonging.

  • Meaning and action

    Turning reflection into possible steps.

  • Community

Growing together: nobody transforms their life alone.

Project architecture

One ecosystem, four entry points

Each line has its own frame. Accessing a resource or the community is not the same as receiving psychotherapy.

Psiquesintiendo

The main brand: psychological sessions for adults.

Little Kikos by Psiquesintiendo

Children and families, since 2024.

RENACER

Psychological travel in Guatemala, a project in development.

Community
